| 90% | Factorise a cubic using Factor Theorem then split middle term — Test divisors of constant term first; usually plus or minus 1, 2, 3 work. | 3 MARKS |
| 80% | Apply x^3+y^3+z^3-3xyz identity, especially when x+y+z=0 — Spot if sum of bases is zero — answer collapses to 3xyz. | 3 MARKS |
| 60% | Remainder Theorem direct substitution — Read divisor (x-a), substitute x=a into p(x), arithmetic carefully. | 2 MARKS |
| 50% | Evaluate (101)^3, (95)^2 etc. using identities — Rewrite as (100 plus or minus k) and apply cube/square identity. | 2 MARKS |
